Monday Musings: Plans for 2016

I have some lofty ambitions for 2016, but I also have a plan to achieve them – well, I have a plan to achieve the bits that are under my control 🙂

The last book of the Caretaker Series will be released on February 20th (though subscribers will get access to an earlybird copy during January. You can sign up here).

After that, there’s another series I’m working on, and I’ve just finished the first draft of book one! It’s set in the far future of John, Lucy & co. The plan is to release this as eBook only, and then release a paperback omnibus edition. I also plan to get my arty side out and illustrate this series myself!

If I have the time, I’d also like to do a sort of fictional encyclopedia (inspired by the guys at SPP) about this world’s history, and what happens in between Lucy and the new stories. I do have a couple extra days off days for writing, so I’m sure I’ll make this happen!

And on the note of omnibusses, I’ve missed John and Theo (especially Theo) so I’m going to write a short story (or collection of short stories) about their adventures bringing magic back into the world (so kind of a Caretaker Series 1a). This will be pulled into an omnibus edition with the rest of the Caretaker Series.

(That was a lot of parentheses).

There’ll also be another anthology of children’s stories (which you can buy on Amazon) and there’ll be four volumes of the (wo)manpower zine.

And on that note – thank you all for reading my blog, liking my posts, and giving me all the encouragement you can spare. It’s been a big year for many of us, but so much has been a result of your support.

Here’s to a fantastic 2016! *clinks teacup*

  • I am looking forward to 2016 for all that you are working towards and all that I have planned for myself. I also have a few (extra) days to make some writing stuff happen. First on the agenda is my article for you and a guest post for Inger that’s about 6 months overdue! Best of wishes for a successful 2016!

Woohoo! I am so looking forward to reading both of those, and I’m sure it’ll be a wonderful year for all of us xx

  • You’ve had a pretty awesome 2015 from what I’ve seen 🙂 I hope 2016 proves to be an even stronger year for you!

  • Hi Zee
Ella just left a little something for you on your front door step, being guarded by your cat. Do hope it’s still there when you get home.

Yes it is! Thank you so much – I feel rather spoilt xx

  • All the best to you for these plans Zee. Like you, I am aiming high for 2016. I wanted to drop you a line here to thank you for your “Monday Musings” idea. I’ve credited you, in part, for a new feature I’ve just announced on my blog called, “The Weekend Name Drop”. I’ve added a link to your site on there as well: http://antonymillen.com/2015/12/28/introducing-the-weekend-name-drop/

No better place to aim 🙂 I’m reading a sort-of-biography by Terry Pratchett at the moment and taking comfort in the fact that he didn’t consider hi self a ‘real’ writer.

I look forward to reading your weekly posts, and thank you for the mention!

      • Cool – no problem. As for Pratchett’s point, I’m over worrying about who is a real writer and who is not. I write. It’s what I do now which probably matters more than worrying about what I am. I write therefore I am a writer, I suppose. That’s why I define myself as “A Canadian living and writing in New Zealand”. There’s a bit of who I am, what I do and where I’m at in it. 🙂
